DEVELOPMENT PROJECT: DEMONSTRATION OF INTEGRATED ENERGY MANAGEMENT (DEUP)

Solvera Lynx has joined the consortium of companies led by Petrol, d.d. in order to carry out the Demonstration of Integrated Energy Management project (DEUP) to develop solutions for the active inclusion of consumption, advanced management of consumption response and energy consumption management. Demonstration projects will be implemented in collaboration with large industrial consumers in the iron, automotive and electrical industries. Due to the specificity of individual groups of consumers and the targeted applicative implementation, the work has been divided into 3 parts.
- The first part, THE PLATFORM FOR FLEXIBLE ENERGY MANAGEMENT IN STEEL (STEELFLEX) is led by Solvera Lynx and it refers to the development of the advanced platform for flexible consumption management. Two pilot demonstrations will take place, a flexible consumption master platform and the Steelflex application that targets the steel industry.
- The second part combines the development and implementation of the EMS adjusted for classic industrial production, the so-called factory management system, FEMS in short. Two pilot installations of FEMS will be made and one pilot installation of the comprehensive energy monitoring transformer.
- The third part focuses on the energy optimisation of plumbing systems, and two pilot installations will be made.
The Demonstration of Integrated Energy Management Project (DEUP) was chosen at a tender of the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology and the Public Agency SPIRIT Slovenia entitled “Pilot/Demonstration Projects – Part I: converting, distribution and energy management”, thus the “Demonstration of Integrated Energy Management” will be co-financed, as evident from the decision no. 303-7-4/2016/7, that is partly financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund (ESRR) and the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology.

THE MANAGEMENT OF THE USERS’ ELECTRICAL ENERGY CONSUMPTION (DEMAND REPONSE CONTROL SYSTEM)

Information about the project:
The management of the users’ electrical energy consumption (demand response control system)
A short description of the project:
Lynx Solvera participates in the Slovenian and Japanese project NEDO, a three-year smart grid project, the main partners of which are the NEDO Japanese Development Agency with its authorised provider Hitachi and the ELES company. In addition to ELES, many stakeholders will be involved in the project in Slovenia, which is why it can be called a national project and which also makes it a unique project in Europe. Related projects across Europe focus on a narrower area or community, but in our case, the integrated and centrally managed cloud solutions can actually be considered an introduction of a smart grid on a national level.
Lynx Solvera coordinates one of the 4 project parts, namely WG3, in which we collaborate with the energy distribution company Elektro Maribor, EIMV, TECES, the Local Energy Agency of Ptuj, Creative Laboratory and more than 800 creative household users who are taking part in the Move the Consumption project (www.premakni-porabo.si). The target of this project is to check the opportunities for electrical energy consumption management (Demand Response) of users during the high energy period.
In this project, Solvera Lynx provides software development, development of the electrical energy consumption management system (Demand Response Control System) and coordinates the installation of LoRaWAN wireless communication devices for direct disconnection and the equipment for the energy consumption management in households (Home Energy Management System) of two Slovenian providers, Entia and Robotina.
The systemic (smart) meters are included in the advanced measurement system and enable the system operator to perform advanced services. With appropriate incentives it could be accomplished that users become actively included in the consumption adjustment programs and thus contribute to the reduction of investment costs in electricity network expansion.
By entering the customisation consumption scheme, approved by the Energy Agency of the Republic of Slovenia, the users become active users on the territory of 10 municipalities on the right bank of the Drava River, who are covered by the distribution transformer station (RTP) and who are already involved in the advanced measurement system. At the same time, these users will also be part of an important international project that involves both Slovenian and Japanese companies and that will provide guidance for the development of advanced tariffs for all of Slovenia. The project includes the following municipalities: Cirkulane, Hajdina, Kidričevo, Majšperk, Makole, Podlehnik, Ptuj, Starše, Videm and Žetale.
The Slovenian and Japanese project allows reliable supply, presents an opportunity for the domestic industry, and based on the obtained experience it will provide guidance for all of Slovenia.
